Trevor Cherry & the Lord Mayor of Leeds What a result - Sam's Race around Yorkshire is a great success! James Bate and Carol Robertson would like to say a huge thank you to the people who made Sam's Race such a success.  We had a fantastic start to the event with Andrea's Gift Patrons Sir Ian Botham and Trevor Cherry, together with the Lord Mayor of Leeds setting us on our way.  We worked our way around the boundary of Yorkshire, starting in Oxenhope, heading north to Hawes, Richmond, across to Whitby, down to Filey and Hull then across to Sheffield, Barnsley and Huddersfield before ending at the Bay Horse in Oxenhope. We were blessed with relatively good weather, apart from a deluge of rain that caught our walkers on Wednesday night and Thursday morning. Nobody knows if she has years or months to live. Since her diagnosis Lisa has made it her personal goal to create awareness of brain tumours worldwide. Riding in memory of Pete Lambert Andrea's Gift Big Bike Ride, Saturday 10th May 2008 We had an amazing day on the 2008 Wetherby to Scarborough Big Bike Ride! The weather was fantastic, we had almost 200 participants who slogged hard in the heat to cover the 65 mile course.  I don't think the beer and chips ever tasted so good! Leeds Institute for Molecular Medicine Update on Research Lab Andrea's Gift and Leeds based children's cancer charity Candlelighters  have agreed to fund long-term brain tumour research in Leeds.  The recruitment process for a senior scientist has just begun. Updates on progress will follow!
