Fundraising in memory of Linda O'Connor
Linda battled a brain tumour for eight years and during that time, her family and friends became great supporters of
two key charities, Andrea's Gift and St Gemma's Hospice.
You can read Linda's story in the Everyone's Gift section.
They have raised significant funds for both charities through a number of different ways.
For Andrea's Gift the family support events that are centrally run, or run by our supporters including the
Crystal Ball, Big Bike Ride, Big Walks and the Celidh.
Linda's
Sister, Sue Cawood is pictured below with her daughter Sarah, Liam and Linda's daughter Sinead and son Jamie after they had
completed the Race for Life at Temple Newsam in July 2007.
Liam, Linda's husband is especially dear to the charity. Liam's works for Bedfords Transport who are very generous and supportive. They provide Andrea's Gift with transport to get the bikes home after the Big
Bike Ride, they sponsored all the wrapping paper and tags for the Christmas Wrap in 2006, they enter teams into the football
competition and support the charity in so many ways.
Liam is also an integral member of Getting There, a group of people who understand the experience of caring for someone close who is affected by a brain tumour.
Andrea's Gift had an award ceremony that celebrated our fantastic supporters and Liam was joint runner up in 2006.
A total of £8,015.84 has been raised in Linda's memory for Andrea's Gift.
