Support
This area is of great importance to the patients, carers and supporters of Andrea’s
Gift.
If
you think that it might help to talk to someone who has an appreciation of what you are going through, please contact
Carol Robertson and she will put you in touch with a person in a similar situation.
We
have a number of patients and carers who are willing to talk either by telephone, email or face to face (where possible) to
help you through the dark times.
How should I feel?
When you or a family member receive a brain tumour diagnosis,
everyone close will be affected in some way, each person will have a different way of coping and dealing with
the practical and emotional issues they face. It is perfectly normal to feel sad, angry, depressed, in denial
or some other emotion, remember that there is no right or wrong way to feel.
One lady who is
involved with Andrea's Gift was able to express her feelings through writing. She wanted to share her work
and we are delighted to publish it via the link below.
This is a very powerful
and emotional piece of work, written at a low period in her journey with this disease. Janet wants you to know
that she now feels differently and more positively about life and the way she is managing the condition.
She
would like to share her feelings and emotions and hopes that this account may help others to understand a little more
about how this disease can affect a patient. Janet's Story.
