Fundraising in memory of Terry Hemingway
The thought of fundraising and helping others began when Terry was ill and needed to borrow
a lightweight wheelchair to be able to get Terry on a final holiday with his family and close friends.
Terry's wife, Elaine together with two of Terry's closest friends, Paul and Paul decided that
they would raise funds to provide Cookridge hospital with a new wheelchair and Andrea's Gift with funds to provide patient
support and money to support the research centre in Leeds.
Over £1,400 was raised in donations at Terry's funeral and then Team Terry really rolled up their
sleeves and began an ambitious series of fundraising events, starting with a hugely successful Golf Day which raised over
£4,000. A wheelchair was donated to Cookridge hospital and the remaining money was donated to Andrea's
Gift.
Since then, friends at Belle Isle Club donated £100, and Elaine
together with Paula Butler, Paul Butler and Paul Rennard are holding a collection at the White Rose Centre on Saturday 18th
August, then a Ball on 29th August followed by a fundraising evening on 26th October in
Terry's memory.
